Another advantage of using paper vacuum bags is that the bags are relatively inexpensive. You can buy them in packs, and a single bag will last for a long time.
However, one disadvantage of paper vacuum bags is that they are not standardized. When the paper bags started appearing in the market, every company quickly developed their own type of bag. These bags come in a range of different shapes and sizes, and therefore you can’t just pick up any bag off the rack. The bag has to match the particular model of your vacuum cleaner.
You will also notice that vacuum bags will usually have two types ? OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and the Replacement type. OEM bags are bags that can be bought directly from the manufacturer. Replacement type bags are bags that are made by third party manufacturers. These manufacturers often attempt to design a bag that can fit multiple types of vacuum cleaners.
However, a new breed of vacuum cleaner will soon make vacuum bags obsolete. These are the new bag-less vacuum cleaners, which have plastic containers instead of bags. They are easier to clean than canvas bags because you can quickly rinse out the dust, and they contain dust even better than paper bags. If you are a clean freak and want the best in cleaning equipment, it may be worth your while to sit down and calculate if it is worth investing in a new bag-less vacuum or if you should just stick to vacuum bags.
